Quiet Your Spirit

Some people try and make themselves look so good on the outside but on the inside, their Spirit/soul is crying out for help. Eventually, what is on the outside will start to look like the inside if we do not deal with our fears and struggles.

Be encouraged, God sees and knows what others cannot see about you. He knows what you are worried about, what you are uncertain about and what you desire. But what He wants from you is your faith and trust that He is in control of every aspect of your life. Sounds good? Looks simple enough? Well, how do I do that when my spirit is screaming out for relief and there seems to be no relief insight!

Have you ever just listened to the noise going on around you? Our environment can affect our mindset towards life and our struggle. Sometimes, you must turn off the TV, put the phone down, turn the ringer on silent and shut away and get quiet so that you can hear God. Have you ever drove in a bad rainstorm? I have had my share of storms on the open road, and it never fails that each time I find myself in that situation, the first thing I do is turn down the volume on my radio. Why? The reason is, I make better judgment calls when I can concentrate and focus on the task at hand. Maybe it’s time to turn down the volume in your life so that you can finally focus on what really matters. Take a moment and quiet your spirit through prayer which will give you direct communication with God and listen for His response through His word. God is attracted to a quiet Spirit that trust Him.

1 Peter 3:4, "You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."
